12 Stamford Hospital Nurses Get Awards

Stamford residents Jayita Ray, Paz Andan, Stanislawa Sbylut and Theresa Sunga are among 12 Stamford Hospital nurses who will receive Nightingale Awards Thursday night.

“We are very proud to have several of our nurses being honored at the ceremony this year,” Kathy Silard, the hospital’s chief operating officer, said in a press release. “This recognition shows the dedication our nurses have for their profession and for their patients.”

The award is given to nurses who make significant contributions to patient care or the nursing profession. They must be nominated by a peer and selected by a panel of nursing professionals.

The other honorees are Joan Haddon, Lynda Royce, Paulette Harris, Janet McManus-Penzero, Marva Crosby, Lynn Wezenski, Lisa Keefner, and Carolyn Kasov.

Thursday’s event will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford at 5:30 p.m. For more information about the award or to purchase tickets, visit the Nightingale Award Website.
