Young Actors Ready To Take Stamford Stage

STAMFORD, Conn. — Local young actors will take to the Stamford stage in Curtain Call’s presentation of “Kiss Me Kate” premiering Wednesday.

The comedy tells the story of a married couple on poor terms starring in a play together and their rocky relationship threatens the success of the show, a Curtain Call news release said. The only reason they decide not to cancel the show is the threat of gangsters demanding the repayment of a gambling debt.

Leading the 41 actors - whose ages range from 10 to 21 years-old - is Brian Bianco, Curtain Call’s education director.

“Kiss Me Kate” will take place in the Kweskin Theatre with evening performances from Wednesday through Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. with matinee performances at 2 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 18. There will be no shows on Aug. 13 and 14.

Tickets can be purchased online or by phone, 203-461-6358, and are $29 for adults, $22 for seniors and $14.50 for students and children.
