Stamford's IHOP at 2410 Summer St. is giving away a short stack of its Original Buttermilk Pancakes for free through 10 p.m. Tuesday to celebrate National Pancake Day.

In return, customers are asked to make a donation to its charitable partners.

"Every stack served helps us reach our goal of raising $3.5 million for children battling critical illnesses," IHOP said in a statement.

Since National Pancake Day began in 2006, IHOP and its  guests have raised more than $24 million for charity.

This year's charity partners are:

  • Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals: Donations fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. For more info, visit CMNHospitals.org.
  • Shriners Hospitals for Children:  This health system has 22 facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico providing advanced care for children with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate.
  • The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: The world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. It works to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
