Bogey's Grille & Tap Room, 2 Wilton Ave., Norwalk, (203) 957-8686
Years in Business: Operated in Westport for 18 years until Hurricane Irene flooded the basement. Re-opened in its new Norwalk location three months ago.
Number of Burgers Offered: Two mainstays on the menu, the Angus Burger and the Prime Beef Burger, plus a build-your-own option and regular specials.
Most Popular: The Prime Beef Burger, an 8-ounce Allen Brothers USDA prime blend, with applewood smoked bacon, blue cheese, and a fried egg on top.
Secret "Sauce" Behind Burger's Flavor: "Our secret ingredient is the quality of our beef," said Co-Owner Jim Stablein. "We don't buy anything except certified Black Angus beef."
Worth Special Mention: Besides the quality of its beef, Bogey's prides itself on being a family-owned restaurant that offers a comfortable family atmosphere. Stablein said that during their years in Westport, Bogey's became a staple of its Main Street neighborhood, and since opening in Norwalk the restaurant has built a steady following. The dining room has an early American, Scottish and Irish golf club motif, and the Tap Room features vintage photographs of pub storefronts.
