What's Happening This Weekend In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — High school football, a Latino festival and ballet auditions are just a few of the events going on in Stamford this weekend. To see what else is going on in the area, visit our Events Section.

Friday, Sept. 14

Astronomy Nights: 7 p.m. Learn about the fall constellations in the night sky at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofeildtown Road, and get to see them through the observatory’s telescope. The event is $3 for adults and $2 for kids.

The Blue Agaves: 10 p.m. The band will be performing at Tiernan’s Bar & Grill, 187 Main St.

Saturday, Sept. 15

High School Football: 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Westhill High School’s football team will be travelling across town to play Trinity High School, 926 Newfield Ave., for a 1 p.m. game. Stamford High will be heading up to Bridgeport to take on Harding High School, 1734 Central Ave., at 1:30 p.m.

Latino Festival: 3-8 p.m. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Domus, 83 Lockwood Ave., with music, dance, food, and more. The event will be bilingual.

Sunday, Sept. 16

Sunday Explorers: Noon. Take the kids to the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road, to take part in hkes, meet the animals, do arts and crafts and more. The event is free to participate in with gate admission.

Children Auditions for “The Nutcracker”: 1-6:30 p.m. Boys and girls with dance experience are invited to try out for the Connecticut Ballet’s presentation of  “The Nutcracker” at the Connecticut Ballet Center, 20 Acosta St. in Stamford. Audition times by age and ability: Children ages 4-6 are from 1-2pm, ages 7-8 are from 2-3:30pm, ages 9-11 are from 3:30-5pm and ages 12-17 are from 5-6:30pm.
