What To Do In Stamford This Week

Monday, Jan. 28 Stamford Responds: 7 p.m. Police, school and city officials along with mental health professionals will share information to help people cope with the aftermath of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Hart Magnet School, 61 Adams Ave.

Tuesday, Jan. 29 B.I.G. Networking For Women: Noon. Greenwich will launch a local chapter of Believe, Inspire and Grow with a party at Kona Grill, 230 Tresser Blvd. Lunch is optional and available for $14.

Wednesday, Jan. 30 Board of Representatives: 7 p.m. The Special Water Committee of the Board of Representatives will hold a public hearing to see what residents think of continuing the ordinance for the city to test well water. Republican Caucus Room, fourth floor, Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.

Thursday, Jan. 31 Board of Education: 7 p.m. The school board will hear members of the public give their opinions on the superintendent’s proposed spending plan for the 2013-14 school year. The hearing will take place at Westover Elementary School, 412 Stillwater Ave.

Friday, Feb. 1 Nature’s Most Extreme: 6 and 7 p.m. Kids will get to meet snakes, scorpions, and other wild animals at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, 39 Scofieldtown Road. The 6 p.m. event is for kids 3 to 6, and the 7 p.m. one is for kids 6 and older. Tickets are $5 for members and $8 for non-members.
