On Feb. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, 243 Tresser Blvd., will serve up the eighth annual Chocolate, Dessert & Wine Lover’s Evening  — a Stamford Valentine tradition where fine wine meets decadent desserts.

“The Chocolate, Dessert & Wine Lover’s Evening has become a beloved community tradition, and an important fundraiser for the shelter,” said Andrew Barer, director of development.

Guests can indulge in a selection of incredible dessert and chocolate flavor combinations ranging from traditional to exotic from over 70 food, dessert and fine wine purveyors. Entertainment, music, door prizes and shopping round out this evening.

The event also benefits Pacific House, the area’s only emergency homeless shelter for men. It serves Fairfield County, especially Greenwich, Stamford, Darien and New Canaan.

Tickets are $45 per person or $80 per couple at www.shelterforhomeless.org/chocolate

Representatives from chocolatiers, bakeries, restaurants, retailers and specialty food markets will be on hand. Select vendors will be offering giveaways and specials. With your ticket, you will have the chance to sample as well as purchase special temptations from purveyors such as Tschudin Chocolates & Confections, which is known for its handmade chocolate stiletto sculptures.

“It’s a great cause and an event that is well received by the community,” owner Rob Tschudin said. “We enjoy sharing our all natural chocolate creations with new people–such as chocolate with aromatics that unfold at different rates–a kind of pinball for your taste buds."

The evening’s event sponsors are First County Bank, Webster Bank, GE Asset Management and Olympus Partners
