Hear Violinist Ben Beilman Perform With The Stamford Symphony

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Come to the Palace Theatre to hear Eckart Preu lead the Stamford Symphony in "Magnificently Mozart," with guest violinist Benjamin Beilman.

The performance will be Saturday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m., at the Palace Theatre, 61 Atlantic St., Stamford.

Beilman has received several awards including the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship in 2014, the Avery Fisher Career Grant and a London Music Master’s Award in 2012. He will give a performance of Mozart’s Violin Concert No. 5 in A Major. 

The performance will include Jakub Ciupinski’s "Street Prayer." Ciupinski is a contemporary Polish composer who lives in New York City and teaches at SUNY Purchase. His music incorporates audio technology and improvisation so that his repetitive musical phrases provide recurring themes.
