The weekend kicks off with Oktoberfest On The Meadow at 6:30 p.m. Friday, according to a press release. The evening for adults-only includes "food, fun, frolic and brew," according to the release. The family events begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center at 39 Scofieldtown Road in Stamford.
"Enjoy apple cider demonstrations, a scarecrow contest, pumpkin carving, and fun activities for the whole family," said the release. "Wear a costume and participate in the daily costume parade."
The weekend activities include an apple slingshot, farm animal demonstrations, face-painting, storytelling, children's crafts and hayrides. Hayride tickets will be available for purchase, and the museum galleries will be open featuring the exhibition "By Her Hand: Art of the Native American Women & The Photographs of Edward S. Curtis," according to the release
New to this year's harvest festival will be a variety of local food trucks including Cowabunga, Hot Off The Grille, LobsterCraft, Maddy's Food Truck, Skinny Pines, and The Spud Stud.
Daily admission fees are $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Family Plus members and above and all children age 3 and under are admitted free. Residents can order tickets in advance by visiting the Stamford Museum and Nature Center's website.
