The play, set in postwar America 1947, opens in The Dressing Room Theatre for a four-week run.
“I have always liked 'Death of a Salesman' and 'The Crucible' – they’re masterworks of American drama – but 'All My Sons' is my favorite Miller play,” said Lou Ursone, Curtain Call executive director and producer for this run. “This is the first time I’ve been involved in a production of the show and have truly enjoyed the experience with the entire team."
"All My Son" tells the story of successful businessman Joe Keller, who seems to have the perfect family but harbors a dark secret. During the war, his company made faulty engine parts that resulted in the deaths of 21 American pilots.
But instead of taking responsibility, he allowed his business partner to take the blame while he continued living the American dream. The effects of that decision ripple through his family, his neighborhood and his world.
"Arthur Miller is the quintessential American playwright, and I am thrilled to be directing this iconic work as my directorial debut at Curtain Call,” said John Atkin. “His words are true, and this story, this tragedy of guilt, deceit and morality, touches everyone."
The cast of 10 includes, from Stamford, Joseph Caputo, Greg Chrzczon and Robert Rosado; from Wilton, Alexandria Clapp and John Ponzini; from Bridgewater, Karen Pope; from Greenwich, Katie Bookser; from Westport, Robie Livingstone; and from New Canaan, James Avery and Christopher Beaurline.
Production design is by Peter Barbieri Jr. of Fairfield, costume design is by Christine Mallardi of Norwalk, and stage management is by Sara Zimmerman.
March marks Curtain Call’s 25th birthday, so, in honor of the occasion, all seats for the March 5 opening night have been rolled back to the 1990 price of $10. Regular prices are $32 for adults, $24 for senior citizens and $16 for students and children. Thrifty Thursday pricing is $22.
