STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Childcare Learning Centers' annual fundraising gala is at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa.

The event is called "A Magical Evening" and will have a magic theme with entertainment provided by magician and mentalist Michael Chaut, creator of the off-Broadway magic show "Monday Night Magic."

The evening also will recognize Pitney Bowes President and CEO Marc Lautenbach as its corporate honoree for the company's longtime support of the Childcare Learning Centers.

Also to be feted is the cultural honoree winner, Mary Ann Hoberman, a children's author and former U.S. Children's Poet Laureate.

Hosting the festivities will be Alan Kalter, who was the voice of the Late Show With David Letterman.

The money raised at the event will benefit a variety of children's and family programs at the Childcare Learning Centers, which is Stamford's provider of pre-K education and one of the city's oldest educational and social service agencies since its formation in 1902.
