Already under way, Workspace provides a positive, personal, and professional environment for entrepreneurs, freelancers, independent creatives and beyond.

“From startups and coders to writers and designers, we’ve created a fun, vibrant, and productive environment where individuals can come together and share ideas,” said Barry Schwimmer, managing partner at the Stamford Innovation Center. “Together, we’re building the future of work.”

Since launching last year, the Stamford Innovation Center realized the need for a community-focused, multidimensional place for all local residents to work, not just entrepreneurs.

As a startup-centric incubator and event space, the Stamford Innovation Center primarily focuses on the regional growth of the entrepreneurial community. Workspace, however, supports the personal growth of individuals, whether they be entrepreneurs, freelancers, telecommuters, designers, or developers. The newly redesigned coworking space allows these professionals to upgrade from their home office or local coffee shop — and experience a new way to work.

By day, Workspace is a collaborative work environment with flexible membership options and impressive amenities. From high-speed WiFi and office supplies to cozy couches and meeting space, Workspace provides its members with everything they need right in the heart of downtown Stamford.

Membership levels include day, community, 8-day, nights/weekends, and monthly — and include various perks. With the monthly pass, for example, members get 24/7 access, free parking, and mailing address.

By night, Workspace serves as a dynamic community hub. From workshops to whiskey tastings, members share more than just physical space here. For example, the newly-launched InnovationEd offers classes and programming designed to equip members with skills they can use the very next day, whether it’s mobile app development or customer experience design. In addition to educational offerings, Workspace hosts talks and presentations, pitch nights, and even social gatherings, such as ping pong tournaments.

“We’re all about community and collaboration, and love spreading ideas and connecting individuals. With the launch of Workspace, we’re hoping to transform these thinkers and dreamers into doers and creators — and make Stamford ‘The City That Coworks,’” Schwimmer said.

Workspace is located on the second floor of the Old Town Hall, right in the heart of downtown Stamford at 175 Atlantic St. Visit its website for more information.
