Tax Preparer In Fairfield County Sentenced For Filing Numerous False Returns A tax preparer from Stratford will spend time behind bars after admitting to preparing false federal income tax returns. Juan Silva, 38, was sentenced in Hartford district court to seven months in prison followed by one year of supervised release for preparing numerous false income tax returns. Silva was also ordered to serve 45 days of home confinement and must perform 80 hours of community service while on release.
