Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued; Damaging Winds, Lightning Expected, Hail, Tornadoes Possible With a line of potentially strong storms moving toward the region, the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire region. It's in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 21. It was issued at 12:30 p.m. The storms will bring damaging wind gusts, the weather service said. Lightning is also expected and hail is possible.
