There are so many new freshman members of the next U.S. House of Representatives -- more than 90 -- that some news gets lost in the transition. Connecticut scored another historic first on Election Day. Jahana Hayes will is the first African-American elected to Congress from the Nutmeg State. Who Else Ran In CT's Primary Elections?
In addition to Tuesday's primary elections for Governor, here are other Connecticut election results: Lieutenant Governor Joe Markley, the GOP-endorsed candidate, was the unofficial winner with 48 percent of the vote in a three-way race. Markley served as state senator from 2010 to the present. In the Democratic primary, former Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz was the unofficial winner over Eva Zimmerman with about 63 percent of the vote.
