Shelton Budget Approved With No Increase In Taxes

SHELTON, Conn. -- Shelton residents can expect no increase in taxes after the Board of Aldermen approved a budget of $122,284,654 for 2016-17, according to the Shelton Herald.

The approved budget represents a $162,138 spending increase, with tax and mill rate staying set at 22.31, the Shelton Herald reported.

The board also approved a spending increase of $1.6 million to the Board of Education. Board of Aldermen President John Anglace told the Shelton Herald that he expects the budget will help both citizens and businesses.
