Rachel Stephens, 38, of Shelton, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Dec. 5 at the store at 250 Bull Hill Lane, police said.
Officers who responded to the Kohl’s store on a shoplifting complaint learned that a customer had taken $348 worth of clothing and jewelry from the store without paying, police said. Store employees had stopped Stephens outside the store and detained her for officers, police said.
She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with sixth-degree larceny. She was released after posting $250 bond for a court date of Dec. 16.
