At about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, Shelton Police received several 911 calls reporting a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian, according to Detective Christopher Nugent.
EMS, fire and police responded to Howe Avenue at Hill Street and found a woman unconscious in the roadway, Nugent said. She was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The woman has been identified as 54-year-old Teresa Glossy, according to the Shelton Herald.
The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is investigating.
At 5:49 p.m. also on May 11, a two-car head-on collision occurred on River Road in the area of Mt. Pleasant, and Shelton police, fire and EMS responded, Nugent said.
Both drivers, the only occupants of the vehicles, were transported to Bridgeport Hospital with serious injuries, he said. River Road/Route 110 was shut down for a period of time during the accident investigation, he said.
The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is investigating, and no tickets have been issued in the crash.
On Friday, May 6, a woman was killed in a separate two-car head-on collision at 1:30 p.m. on River Road in front of the Sports Center of Connecticut, said Detective Richard Bango. Shelton Police, Fire and EMS responded.
The driver of one car, 69-year-old Rosemarie Dwyer of Shelton, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The other driver, Samantha Monaco, 23, of Shelton, was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is investigating, and no tickets have been issued in the crash.
