Shelton Massage Therapist Arrested On Sex Assault Charge — Again

SHELTON, Conn. — A New York massage therapist arrested on sex assault charges earlier this month turned himself in to police Tuesday, after four additional women accused him of similar complaints, Shelton police said.

Six women in all have told police that Kim Hyung, 53, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y., inappropriately touched and/or spoke to them while they received massages at Coco Spa in Shelton, police said.

On Tuesday, Hyung was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and practicing massage therapy without a license on each warrant. 

He was arraigned in Derby Superior Court and released on $20,000 court-set bond, police said. 

On July 5, Hyung was first arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and practicing massage without a license, after the police department received two complaints from female clients of Hyung, police said.

The first complaint came on May 6, from a 36-year-old woman, who said that Hyung inappropriately touched her during a massage at the spa at 704 Bridgeport Ave., police said.

Another woman complained to police on May 28 that Hyung inappropriately touched and spoke to her during a massage session at Coco Spa.

Neither woman knew each other, and during the arrest it was discovered that he did not have a license to practice massage therapy in the state, police said.

Police are still investigating the incidents are asking anyone who may have experienced a similar incident at the spa to contact the Shelton police at 203-924-1544.
