The owner of the Trumbull home told police that the SUV had driven across his front lawn and caused substantial damage, the Connecticut Post reported. It then crashed into a tree and fled the scene, though it left crucial identifying evidence behind, police told the Connecticut Post.
The vehicle was traced to a Craig Lane address in Shelton, where the owner said his grandson had taken the vehicle when he was sleeping, the Connecticut Post reported.
Brandon Ryan, 21, was charged with using a motor vehicle without permission and operating without a license and evading responsibility, according to the Connecticut Post.
