At around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Hamen Police were called to a diner on Dixwell Avenue on a report that a man had left the restaurant without paying for his food, according to the Connecticut Post. The suspect, later identified as 51-year-old Edward Brown Jr. of Shelton, was followed down Dixwell Avenue by an employee of the diner after he left, the Connecticut Post reported.
Hamden Police determined that Brown had removed a loaded gun from his shorts and placed it on Dixwell Avenue a couple block away from the diner, according to the Connecticut Post. Police arrested Brown, who is a convicted felon, and found that he was also in possession of three bullets, according to the Connecticut Post.
Brown was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a revolver without a permit and sixth-degree larceny, and held on a $75,000 bond, according to the Connecticut Post.
