Richard Dore, 58, was charged March 9 and appeared in court Tuesday on charges of with first-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance, the Valley Independent Sentinel said.
An arrest warrant said Dore’s arrest came as a result of state police searches of file-sharing networks on the Internet used for child pornography, the Valley Independent Sentinel said.
During a state police search of his home, Dore admitted downloading “illegal pornography” but said he was "not looking for [child] pornography” and would delete it, the Valley Independent Sentinel said.
When searching Dore's computers, state police also discovered 60 search terms he had used to local child porn in peer-to-peer file-sharing networks, the story said.
