Shelton Police investigated and obtained a search warrant for the home of Anthony Martino, 38, police said. Officers executed the search warrant at the residence and later applied for an arrest warrant for Martino, police said.

On Monday, May 8, Shelton officers went to Martino's home to serve an arrest warrant, which was issued after the March search of his residence, police said.

When officers arrived, Martino ran on foot and attempted to hide in the backyard, police said. After a short period of time, Martino resurfaced and surrendered himself to officers, police said.

Martino was taken into custody on the arrest warrant and charged with Illegal cultivation of marijuana and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

He posted $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on May 22.
