Members of the Milford Police Department were dispatched to Bayview Beach at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, where there was a report of a vehicle that had gotten stuck in the sand.

Investigation into the stuck vehicle determined that the driver, Milford resident Leon Rainaud, 26, allegedly was driving the vehicle on the beach while under the influence of alcohol before it got stuck. Police said that further investigation found that the vehicle was uninsured and had illegal license plates.

Rainard proceeded to fail a breathalyzer and he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and misuse of license plates. He is currently being held in lieu of $500 bail and is due to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
