Shelton's Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Cos. 1 & 3 said it responded to the rollover accident between Exits 12 and 13 on northbound Route 8 at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

The vehicle was found in the woods with heavy damage after rolling over multiple times, said a Facebook post from Echo Hose. The driver was ejected out of the vehicle and was located a short distance away, the post said.

The Post said the car, a 2009 Mercedes C63 AMG, went down an embankment and landed in a ditch.

Christian Santamaria-Mendoza, 31, of Ansonia lost control of the car, veered onto the right shoulder, corrected back onto the pavement and then started to slide sideways at a high rate of speed, hitting a rock ledge and rolling over several times, the Post said.
