SHELTON, Conn. -- New details are emerging due to a number of witnesses of the deadly shooting on a Queens corner in July 2011 by a Shelton man, according to the New York Times.
The entire incident started over a double-parked car, said police. The police and witnesses described how Gjergj Logu-Cupi, also known as George, of Shelton, pulled out a revolver, fired several shots — killing one man and leaving another with a bullet lodged in his brain, then drove off in his van, reported the Times.
Although investigators had surveillance footage of the van and a composite sketch of its gunman, it was 4 1/2 years before Logu-Cupi was arrested at his home in Shelton and charged with second-degree murder, assault and other charges. Police said a tip led to his arrest, the newspaper added.
Logu-Cupi is being held without bail at the Vernon C. Bain Center, a floating jail barge in the East River, the newspaper reported.
