The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection released the following beach closure information:
- The swim area at Indian Wells State Park in Shelton is closed due to bacteria levels. Water there will be retested Wednesday, Aug. 23.
- The swim area at Kettletown State Park in Southbury is closed due to the presence of blue green algae blooms. The swim area will remain closed until that condition subsides.
- The swim area at Silver Sands State Park in Milford is closed due to bacteria levels. Water there will be retested Monday, Aug. 21.
- The swim area at Lake Waramaug in Litchfield County is closed due to bacteria levels. Water there will be retested Monday, Aug. 21.
All other beaches are open as of Friday morning at Connecticut's state parks, including Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
