Robert “Bob” Vincent Freiler, 53, died Friday at Bridgeport Hospital.
Shelton police are investigating the crash, which occurred at 7:15 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Howe Avenue and Grove Street. Shelton police, fire and EMS responded to the scene.

Freiler, known to his friends as Sweet Lou, was born in Bridgeport and grew up in Trumbull. He graduated from Norwalk State Technical College.
He worked for Stop & Shop, PepsiCo and most recently for BTX Global Logistics.
He was a member of the Moose Club in Stratford and enjoyed friends, music (especially Southern rock and country), concerts, billiards, football and baseball. His favorite team was the Mets. He loved dogs, especially his chocolate Labradors, Dixie and Gypsy.
He is survived by his father, Louis J. Freiler; his three sisters, Barbara Freiler-Hamilton and her husband Eric Hamilton, Nancy Freiler, and Linda and her husband Allen Decker; his goddaughter/niece Alyssa Decker; and several aunts, uncles and cousins, including his cousin/brother, Marty; and a host of friends who were like his brothers/family, especially longtime roommate, Jacques Chaney.
He was recently predeceased by his mother Margaret Maloney Freiler.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends are invited to attend in a concert t- shirt commentating Bob's collection.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. directly at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
