But Tony Espiinal, 39, was found not guilty of murder in the death of Bryant Kelly, 27, in a confrontation on the Route 8/25 Connector at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 18, 2014, the Post said.
Espinal could face up to 10 years in prison when sentenced Jan. 19, the Connecticut Post said.
During a 911 call from the accident scene near Exit 5, police could hear the two men argue and then scuffle, the Post said.
Espinal said he was being pushed and punched, and the dispatcher told him to wait for police, the Post said.
State police troopers found Kelly lying on the ground by his car with puncture wounds to his arm and chest, the Post said. He died about an hour later at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
At trial, Espinal said he got out of his car to take a photo of Kelly’s license plate but said Kelly punched him, the Post said. Fearing for his life, Espinal said he pulled a folding knife from his pocket and jabbed at Kelly but did not realize he had stabbed him, the Post said.
