Kelly will be joined by state Reps. J.P. Sredzinski (R-Monroe and Newtown), Ben McGorty (R-Shelton, Stratford and Trumbull), Laura Hoydick (R-Stratford) and Jason Perillo (R-Shelton) for the discussion.

"As legislators, it is our duty to make any and all attempts to protect our youth and keep our communities safe,”Sredzinski said last month at a legislative forum on opiate addiction.

“Not many residents in our communities know this is happening around them. It was important to hear from those that are victims of this horrible drug come out and tell their stories,” McGorty added

Besides state legislators, Shelton mayor Mark Lauretti, police chief Patrick Ridenhour, other local authorities and recovering addicts will discuss how best to deal with what the American government calls a 'high-intensity drug trafficking area' in the county and beyond.

The forum is free. The auditorium is at 1 Corporate Drive, Shelton.
