His proposed budget totals $122,355,476, which is a 1.4 percent increase over last year's budget, the Herald said. Even with the increase, the mayor said the city’s mill rate would remain at 22.31, preventing any property tax increases, said the Shelton Herald.
The proposed budget, which includes $70,470,000 for education, will now head to the Board of Apportionment and Taxation, as well as the Board of Aldermen, before final submission by May 31, added the Shelton Herald.
