Ex-Shelton Teacher Who Allegedly Tried To Kiss Student Granted Continuance

SHELTON, Conn. -- A former Shelton High School teacher charged with disorderly conduct after having dinner with a female student and allegedly making "uncomfortable" conversation, was granted a continuance in court this week, according to the Connecticut Post.

The former math teacher, George Perduta, 57, of Kensington, resigned following the alleged April 9, 2015 dinner, reported the Connecticut Post. He is expected to seek accelerated rehabilitation, court officials told the Connecticut Post.

The 17 year-old student told Shelton police Perduta invited her to dinner and during dinner told her she was the only thing that made him happy, asked her to travel to Europe and attend a school close to him, which he would pay for reported the Connecticut Post. On the way he home he attempted to kiss her, said the Connecticut Post.
