SOS Save Our Shelton is a group of residents who are concerned with high-density residential and retail development proposed in the city.

The group has launched a GoFundMe effort to raise $50,000 to help pay lawyer Joel Green, who was hired to oversee the Shelter Ridge Planning & Zoning Legal Appeal, and Keith Ainsworth, who has been retained to look into a potential case against the Wetlands Wetlands Commission for the same project.

"We encourage responsible, balanced development that does not infringe upon the property rights of existing residents," the group said in a statement.

To date, the organization has raised more than $28,000 in its efforts to fight high-density development in Shelton.
