At the most recent visit Nov. 21, the group served more than 150 people macaroni and cheese, bread, salad, ham and cake, then stayed to clean up. Led by third-grade teacher Veronica Fiore, the group was made up of school secretary Mary Reilly, third-grade teachers Jasmine Cacace, Carol Fata and Judy Visoky.
“We all feel grateful for the opportunity to help those less fortunate than us and to make a difference in their everyday lives,” Fiore said. “It makes us thankful for what we have. It is important to give back and that’s why we continue to volunteer each month.”
The group plans to return to help on Dec. 19. Fiore said she joined the volunteer efforts three years ago with the Bronxville Teachers’ Association, and it turned into a monthly effort.
