Giacomo's Italian Deli, 1100 Hope St., Stamford: An Italian deli with in-house seating, hot and cold specialty dishes and of course, customized heroes. They offer free delivery.

Alex Delmar of Stamford told Daily Voice some items she orders here.

"They have a good hot buffet that I have packed up and saved for dinner, sausage and peppers, chicken scarpariello" and for dinner, Delmar likes "Italian combo on a hard roll; hot eggplant parm wedge; or turkey, provolone, lettuce, Russian dressing on a hard roll."

The deli has salads she hasn't tried but "look good," said Delmar.

Genoa Deli & Pizza, 113 Danbury Road, Ridgefield: You can stop in for a slice of pizza here but the hallmarks of Genoa in Copps Hill Commons are Italian specialties showcased in a long, steamy gleaming counter. Heroes are substantive as is in-house dining. The place is large with plenty of seating and often there are groups in at lunch and dinnertime.

Eddie Reiske of Brookfield says this on Facebook in a recent post, "Highly recommend! We used Genoa catering for recent family party. Portions are very generous. The penne vodka, chicken Française, broccoli rabe with sausage were all fabulous."

Wilton Deli, 379 Danbury Road, Wilton: It's a family run business where you can order breakfast all day long and lunch with choices like Barcelona sandwich, breaded chicken cutlet, mozzarella, roasted peppers, and pesto mayonnaise.

Classics like bacon, lettuce and tomato, and peanut butter and jelly, and grilled cheese are available. You may dine in—the spot is cozy with a checkerboard floor, or take out your meal. The deli has a food truck for catering.

The County Cow Deli, 2505 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield: Bacon, egg, and cheese comes up a lot among online reviews. The store's breakfast menu is complete, as is lunch, full of salads, club and deli sandwiches, including "Full Meat" which is turkey, roast beef, seafood or chicken salad with any combination of "toppings" you might like.

Corbos Corner Deli, 1380 East Putnam Ave. Old Greenwich: They have their own Facebook group with 1,200 followers where specials are posted daily.

On Wednesday, June 19, you might order farfalle pesto, chicken scarpariello, houses salad with chicken cutlet, hot peppers, and mozzarella, and Scarp Melt, a chicken scarpariello with melted provolone sandwich.

A Yelp reviewer, Beth H. (Yelpers don't give last names), of Greenwich, said, "Favorite deli in Greenwich! Awesome owners and staff! Perfect for stopping in to grab a sandwich or catering a party/office meeting."
