The fields at Valley Farm, 555 Walnut Tree Hill Road, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for one last day of strawberry picking.

Love fresh fruit? Like to pick your own? Don't despair — even as the strawberry season draws to an end, the blueberry fields are already ripe for the picking.

Check out the video above — the Daily Voice visited the fields back on June 2, the opening day of the season.

Jones Family Farms first started planting strawberry vines at the 400-acre farm 50 years ago.

Berries are $3.99 if you pick less than eight pounds, discounted to $2.79 a pound for more than eight pounds. Or fill a berry box for $25 — take a $1 discount if you bring your own.

The crew at Jones Family Farms always advises customers to call the Crop Report at 203-929-8425 before you visit. Or visit its website or Facebook page for more information.
