The first Chick-fil-A in West Haven will open at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 487 Saw Mill Road.

Jose Marquez, a Connecticut native with a background in business and a 13-year tenure at Chick-fil-A, will lead the West Haven location as its owner-operator, the company said.

Marquez, who began his career with Chick-fil-A as a teenager in Georgia, said he is eager to return to his home state and bring the fast food chain's trademark hospitality to the area.

“It feels surreal to step into this role of local owner-operator, a position I’ve admired and aspired to reach for years,” Marquez shared.

The West Haven Chick-fil-A will employ 100 full- and part-time employees.

Chick-fil-A said it would donate $25,000 to Connecticut Foodshare, a non-profit food bank, to celebrate the new location's grand opening and to fight local hunger. The company added the new West Haven restaurant would participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which gives surplus food to area soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits in need.

The West Haven location joins 14 others across Connecticut.
