SHELTON, Conn. -- Looking for something special to give your sweetheart for Valentine's Day?
Handmade soaps, jewelry, and gifts by local artisans will be available at Around Town, a two-day handmade market set for Saturday, Feb. 11, and Sunday, Feb. 12 at Valley United Way in Shelton.
Live music, 15 vendors, a mini-chocolate tasting and Make-Your-Own-Valentines activity for kids are all featured.
The market is organized by Celebrate Shelton, an initiative focusing on small businesses and their surrounding communities. It sponsors handmade markets, a summer concert series and holiday tree lighting in Shelton.
"When we shop local, we are supporting business owners who are our friends and neighbors, while strengthening our local economy," said business owners Nicole Heriot-Mikula and Michael Skrtic.
Around Town hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Valley United Way, 54 Grove St., Shelton.
