A student and staffer at a pair of are schools have tested positive for COVID-19, but classes will continue as scheduled, district officials announced. Both schools are in the Weston District. Hurlbutt Elementary School Principal Laura Kaddis announced that a staff member has tested positive for the virus, though classes continued as planned on Friday, Nov. 6. “Any individuals exposed have been contacted and are now quarantining,” Kaddis said. Another staff member at a Fairfield County school has tested positive for COVID-19. The Weston School District announced on Friday, Oct. 16 that the person works at the Weston Middle School. Student Threatened To 'Shoot Up' Middle School In Weston, School Officials Say
Police were called in to investigate a threat made by a student to “shoot up” the middle school in Weston. “One student turned to a trusted adult to report these comments and that adult passed the information on to the middle school administration. We immediately called the Weston Police Department,” Weston Middle School principal Daniel Doak wrote in a letter to parents.
