Harvard Grad Student Becomes First Active Military Member Crowned Miss America A graduate student at Harvard has made history as the first active duty member of the military to be crowned Miss America. Madison Marsh, who is working on her master's degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and currently a graduate intern with Harvard Medical School, was crowned on Sunday, Jan. 14. Dr. Donald Faust Buckley, Lover Of Animals, Owned South Salem Animal Hospital For 22 Years Dr. Donald Faust “Don” Buckley, 93, of Winchester, VA and beloved father and “abuelo,” passed away at his home on Tuesday, Nov. 24 surrounded by his six children.  Dr. Buckley was born at home in Far Rockaway on Nov. 23, 1927. He was a longtime resident of North Salem and a parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Croton Falls. Dr. Buckley entered the Cornell School of Veterinary Medicine at the age of 16. Father, Son Sentenced For Making Fraudulent Titanium Sales To CT Defense Subcontractor A father and son team have been sentenced after admitting to fraudulently selling titanium to a Connecticut defense subcontractor in Bridgeport federal court. John J. Palie, Jr., 64, of Tiverton, Rhode Island was sentenced to 10 months in prison and two years of supervised release, and his son, John J. Palie III, 43, of Plymouth, Massachusetts was sentenced to six months in prison followed by two years of supervised release. Palie Jr. must also pay a $10,000 fine. Father, Son Admit To Fraudulent Titanium Sales To CT Defense Subcontractor A father and son pleaded guilty in federal court to trying to sell fake titanium to a Connecticut subcontractor for use in aircraft including U.S. Air Force fighter jets. John J. Palie Jr., 62 ,of Tiverton, R.I., and John J. Palie III, 42, of Plymouth, Mass., waived their right to be indicted and pleaded guilty on June 27 before U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Robert J. Brown, Longtime Greenwich Police Lieutenant, Dies At 74 Robert J. Brown, a retired Greenwich Police Lieutenant, has died at age 74, Greenwich Police announced Wednesday. He started employment with the department in January of 1969 and retired on in February 2002, a career of 33 years and one month.  Lt. Brown was a lifelong resident of Greenwich attending Greenwich schools. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1962–1966 and was honorably discharged.
