Danbury Man Nabbed For Drunk Driving After Failing To Stay In Lane: Police
Several people, including Connecticut residents, were apprehended for impaired driving over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in the Hudson Valley, including several incidents involving crashes and dangerous driving behaviors, authorities announced.
The arrests, which occurred in Putnam County between Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Wednesday, Dec. 4, were announced by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday.
The first of the incidents happened on Nov. 26, when deputies were dispatched to a two-car crash on Route 311 in Patterson near McManus Road North.

Speeding, Weaving Motorist From Norwalk Nabbed For DUI In Wilton, Police Say
A Fairfield County man driving a 2024 Lexus NX 350 was nabbed for alleged DUI and other charges after he was spotted by police speeding and weaving.
John Tacconi, age 66, of Norwalk, was charged in Wilton on Tuesday, Aug. 20, on Danbury Road.
According to Wilton Police Deputy Chief Robert Cipolla, an officer clocked Tacconi traveling at 60 mph in a 40 mph zone on Danbury Road and weaving in and out of the double yellow line.
Tacconi admitted to the officer he had consumed alcohol before driving, and he had bloodshot eyes and was slurring his speech, Cipolla said.

A Connecticut woman is in trouble for leading authorities on a chase after they attempted to pull her over in Westchester County, police said.
On Monday, Nov. 28, around 8:45 a.m., police attempted to pull over a vehicle on Interstate 95 southbound in Rye for a traffic violation. After the vehicle failed to stop, a chase began, according to New York State Police.
The vehicle then eventually left I-95 at exit 18B in White Plains and briefly pulled over on the right shoulder before again driving off, police said.

Fairfield County Man Nabbed For Using False Name, Other Traffic Violations, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly providing a false name when he was pulled over for a traffic violation and for resisting arrest.
Thomas Willoughby, age 54, of Norwalk, was arrested on Monday, March 29, by New Canaan Police on a warrant for the incident which took place in September, said Lieutenant Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan Police.
According to Ferraro, during the September stop, Willoughby allegedly provided officers with a false name, was driving with expired registration, did not have a driver's license, and was driving without insurance.

CT Man Drove Drunk At More Than Twice Legal Limit In NY, Police Say
New York State Police arrested a Connecticut man for alleged drunk driving after being stopped for a traffic violation in Rockland County.
Samuel Johnson, 32, of Hamden in New Haven County, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, on I-87 in Clarkstown, said state police.
One stopped, troopers found that Johnson was intoxicated and performed a blood alcohol test which showed that he was allegedly driving at twice the legal limit at 0.21 percent, state police said.
Johnson was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and was turned over to a sober third party.
