CT Teen Killed After Crashing Car Into Tree
A 19-year-old Connecticut woman was killed over the weekend after she crashed into a tree in Hartford County, authorities announced.
Tolland County resident Makayla Theriaque, of Vernon, was identified as the victim in a Sunday evening, Aug. 25, crash in Manchester, police said.
Officers were called to 233 Buckland Hills Drive for reports of a car crashing into a tree, Manchester police said.
Paramedics rushed Theriaque, who was behind the wheel, to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

Woman Struck, Killed By Car Near CT Intersection
A Connecticut woman crossing a busy roadway was hit and killed by a vehicle.
Yarillis Esteras, age 43, of Hartford, was hit around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8 in the area of Franklin Avenue and Bliss Stree in Hartford.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police, when officers arrived on the scene they found Esteras had been struck by a vehicle and was critically injured.
The vehicle involved, and its driver remained on scene, Boisvert said.
Esteras was transported to Hartford Hospital by ambulance, where she later died, he added.

Woman Killed After Losing Control Of Car On Route 8, Police Say
A 52-year-old woman was killed after losing control of her car on Route 8.
Sherry L. Baldwin, of Winsted, was killed around 12:50 p.m., Thursday, May 9, on Route 8 in Torrington, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to state police, Baldwin was driving her 1998 Subaru Impreza northbound on Route 8 north of Exit 46, when she swerves to the left for an unknown reason, crossing into the left shoulder.
The vehicle then swerved back to the right, crossing three lanes and driving off the right side of the road, and colliding with a speed limit sign, state police said.

Beloved Barber Dies After Being Struck By Two Cars Crossing Street In Westchester
It was like any other day, cutting hair and joking with customers until the end of the day when a local beloved barber walked out the door of the shop and was hit by two vehicles while crossing the street.
Just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, life support was turned off for Vyacheslav Shaknmurov, known as Steve at B&A Barber Shop in New Rochelle, said the shop's manager and his close friend, Alex Ribiev.
