The incident, in Westport, took place on Thursday, Aug. 31 in the area of Post Road East from Long Lots Road. According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, a truck traveling westbound on Post Road East from the area of Long Lots Road had a hydraulic line break and began leaking hydraulic fluid.  The driver of the vehicle did not know that the fluid was leaking and continued driving west on Post Road East to Myrtle Avenue and Main Street.  "…

The incident took place in Fairfield County around 11 p.m. Monday, July 17 on the northbound side in Bridgeport near Exit 28, said the Connecticut State Police. Lane Closures: I-684 Stretch To Be Affected A series of upcoming single and double-lane closures on a busy highway in Northern Westchester will interrupt traffic for the majority of the day.  The closures will affect Interstate 684 southbound in Bedford between Exit 6 (Route 35) and Exit 5 (Saw Mill River Parkway) on Thursday, June 1, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.  The closures will last between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will facilitate bridge work.

Historic Covered Bridge In Litchfield County Severely Damaged By Backhoe A historic covered bridge in Connecticut was severely damaged after someone towed a backhoe through it, officials said.  The West Cornwall Covered Bridge in Litchfield County, located in West Cornwall by the intersection of Route 128 and Route 7, was damaged on Friday afternoon, Dec. 23, when the backhoe struck multiple wooden beams that support the bridge's roof, according to the state's Department of Transportation.  Because of the severe damage, engineers are now analyzing the bridge, which will be closed for about a week, officials said. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Sunday, April 3 in Bridgeport on Barnum Avenue. Body Found On Road In Litchfield County ID'd As 17-Year-Old Boy A gravely injured 17-year-old found sprawled across a Litchfield County roadway later died after being hospitalized, police said.  Police closed off Route 254, also known as South Main Street, in Thomaston, after a motorist discovered the injured teen at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16 and contacted police.  The road was closed between cross street McMahon Drive and Walgreens.
