Summer concerts at Long Island staple Jones Beach Theater are about to get a whole lot better thanks to a massive renovation project in the works. Live Nation Entertainment is making a multimillion-dollar investment that’s meant to improve the concert-going experience at the 70-year-old outdoor amphitheater, Gov. The future is coming for a Fairfield County Police Department, which is adding a brand new Tesla to its fleet of squad cars. Get ready to say goodbye to plastic straws, Whole Foods shoppers, the supermarket chain has officially announced that it will be the first national grocer to eliminate the product from its stores. Katonah-Lewisboro School District Switches To Wind-Powered Electricity
A school district in Northern Westchester has officially gone green. As of Friday, Feb. 1, all of the electricity used by the Katonah-Lewisboro School District will be from renewable sources, namely wind that is generated by turbines in Texas. The purchase of 100 percent green power was approved by the Board of Education last month at their Jan. 17 meeting. Do you want to make your own soda at home? A deal just made by Westchester-based PepsiCo may allow you to do just that. Pepsi announced on Monday it will acquire an Israel-based cola maker. The deal for SodaStream of $144 per share in cash, a transaction valued at more than $3.2 billion.
