Fire Damages Home On Muirwood Court In Brookfield BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Firefighters quickly knocked down a fire on Muirwood Court in Brookfield on Thursday morning. The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. and drew mutual aid from several surrounding departments, including the Danbury Fire Department, Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company and the Water Witch Hose Co. 2 of New Milford. Two Injured In Head-On Crash Near Target In Bethel BETHEL, Conn. — Two people were taken to Danbury Hospital after a two-car crash on Route 6 in front of Target in Bethel on Saturday morning, according to a Facebook post from the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company.  At 11:45 a.m., Stony Hill Fire & EMS were dispatched to Route 6 in front of Target for the two-car accident, the post said.  Two cars sustained heavy front-end damage after a head-on crash on the busy road, the post said.  The two people who were sent to Danbury Hospital suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the post said.  The roadway was briefly closed after the crash.
