Massive Search Underway After Person Jumps Off Bridge On Merritt Parkway Numerous crews are working to find a person who jumped off the Sikorsky Bridge, according to Connecticut State Police. State Police Sgt. Dwight Washington said the Coast Guard was on the scene as well as the Stratford Fire Department.  Washington said someone jumped off the Sikorsky Bridge around 2 p.m., Thursday, April 4, and that "a body was spotted floating in the water," he added. During the July 4, 2017, weekend, Connecticut State Troopers issued 1,368 tickets for speeding, 2,941 tickets for moving violations and made 60 arrests for driving under the influence. Troopers also investigated 398 motor vehicle crashes.
