Darien Police say they observed a suspicious motor vehicle stopped in the travel portion of the roadway on Post Road near Thorndal Circle on Sunday, Oct. 20 around 5:45 a.m. Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Thethe Kwete, 38, of Bridgeport, had an active bench warrant from Bridgeport Court, police say. Shortly before noon on Wednesday, Jan. 30, investigators at the Darien Police Department were notified by officers in Stratford that they had conducted a traffic stop on a Stratford man wanted for failure to appear in court. Police said that the driver, 52-year-old Jeffrey Drescher had failed to appear in court for an arrest in Darien in 2001.
