Fire Causes Substantial Damage To Stratford Gun Store, Shooting Range A fire at a popular Stratford gun store and shooting range caused substantial fire and water damage. The fire started in Stratford around 6:15 p.m., Monday, April 17 at the. Stratford Guns & Ammo at 760 Honeyspot Road. Stratford Fire Marshal Robert Daniel said the three-alarm fire started in the shooting range area and employees attempted to put it out before calling 911 and evacuating the store and area. Woman Falls 40 Feet From Fairfield County Bridge, Lands On Construction Barge A woman who was working on a Fairfield County bridge was seriously injured when she fell through a hole and landed 40 feet below on a construction barge. The incident took place in Stratford around 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Devon Bridge, said Robert Daniel, assistant chief/fire marshal for the Stratford Fire Department. Stratford Fire Rescue, along with Marine 233,  responded to the scene. Using Marine 233 moored alongside the barge, firefighters and Stratford EMS treated and stabilized the 55-year-old woman before using a rope rescue system to extricate the victim…

Fairfield County Home Heavily Damaged During Fire A Fairfield County home was heavily damaged during an attic fire over the weekend. The fire happened in Stratford around 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 21 at 9 Alvord St. On arrival, Stratford firefighters reported heavy fire on the west side exterior and in the attic of the home, said Stratford Assistant Fire Chief Robert Daniel.  A  total of 22 firefighters and two safety officers responded to the fire, Daniel said.  The fire initially started on the exterior of the 1,800-square-foot colonial-style home.  The fire was under control in about 40 minutes, Dan…

Family, Pets Escape Raging House Fire Seven people, including three children, and several animals were able to escape a house fire in Fairfield County. Man Badly Burned During House Fire In Area Firefighters were able to save a person trapped inside a garage while the structure was on fire. The incident took place around 1:47 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 45 Mill Pond Road, said Stratford Assistant. Fire Chief/Fire Marshall Robert Daniel.
