Nuvance To Bring 500 Jobs From Other Locations To New Site In Danbury In Connecticut's largest office space lease this year, Nuvance Health Systems has rented a 220,000 square foot office space in Danbury, and will hire 500 employees.  Nuvance, formerly Western Connecticut Medical, is leasing a portion space at the newly named "Summit at Danbury" space for 12 years and may expand to 300,000 square feet in the facility.  The space, according to Nuvance, will include its executive headquarters, labs, clinical facilities and its back offices.  Before it was purchased by Summit Development, the building at 100 Reserve Road was called "The Matrix" …

Tractor-Trailer Leaves Scene After Striking State Police Cruiser On I-84 State Police are seeking the identity of a yet-unidentified tractor-trailer driver who struck a trooper's parked vehicle while he was still inside,  The accident took place in Putnam County on Friday, Aug. 21 on approximately 11:45 p.m., while the trooper was monitoring traffic on the westbound shoulder of Interstate 84 in the town of Kent.  The driver fled the scene; the officer was treated at Putnam Hospital and released.  Anyone who witnessed this incident, or with relevant information, is asked to contact East Fishkill State Troopers at (845) 677-7300, and to refer …

ID Released For Man Killed In Crash That Shut Down I-84 For More Than 10 Hours The identity of the man killed in an early morning crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer and a car that shut down a stretch of I-84 for more than 10 hours on Monday has been released. The closure occurred on eastbound I-84 at Exit 17 (Ludingtonville Road/Route 43) in Kent. At approximately 3:48 a.m., a 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 36-year-old Sergio Khundiashvili of Brooklyn was traveling in the left lane when the trailer struck the median guardrail, state police said. Teenage Boy Drowns in Area Lake Click here for an updated story: ID Released For 14-Year-Old Area Drowning Victim A 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in Lake Tonetta in Southeast, according to multiple sources. The incident took place around 9 p.m. Sunday when several teens were swimming off a floating dock at a neighborhood beach on Shore Drive, officials said. Divers from Mahopac Falls found the teen about 45 minutes after receiving the call that he had not resurfaced. Danbury Man Repeatedly Punched Pregnant Woman In Face, Stomach, Police Say A 35-year-old man was taken into custody on Thursday night after he allegedly struck a pregnant woman multiple times in a car she was driving in Southeast, state police said. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night, a pregnant woman drove into the parking lot of the New York State Police barracks in Brewster to report a crime in progress.
