Fatal Crash: 44-Year-Old ID'd As Victim After SUV Slams Into Embankment, CT State Police Say
A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight in a residential neighborhood in Connecticut.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 1 in Litchfield County.
A 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling northbound in North Canaan on Canaan Valley Road near Carlson Road when the SUV left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned, according to Connecticut State Police.
The operator of the Outlander, Hartford County resident Deane William Moores, age 44, of Plainville, succumbed to injuries he suffered, said police.
The crash is now under investigation.

New Haven County resident Kenneth Procino, of Milford, won a $50,000 Powerball prize, CT Lottery announced on Friday, Oct. 14.

A Connecticut man could spend decades in federal prison after admitting that he secretly recorded dozens of teens and adults inside bathrooms, including in a high school locker room.
Hartford County resident Kyle Fasold, age 52, of Plainville, pleaded guilty to child exploitation offenses Thursday, Sept. 29, in federal court in Hartford.
Fasold was arrested in March 2020 after investigators determined he had uploaded images of child pornography to the dark web, according to the US Attorney’s Office in Connecticut.

A 39-year-old Connecticut man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on a busy roadway.
David Sanabria, age 39, of Plainville, was killed around 6:20 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Southington.
According to Lt. Keith Egan of the Southington Police, said officers responded to 279 Queen St., for a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a car.

Man Dies After Being Ejected From Vehicle In Crash On CT Roadway, Police Say
A 51-year-old Connecticut man was killed after being ejected during a single-vehicle crash.
The crash took place in East Hartford around 9:15 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, on Route 2 near Exit 5.
According to the state police, Glenn Pelletier, of Plainville, was killed when for an unknown reason, his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle struck the concrete barrier off the left side of the roadway.
The impact caused Pelletier to be ejected from the motorcycle, causing fatal injuries, state police said.
Pelletier was pronounced dead at the scene, they added.

A man died after he drove his car the wrong way and slammed into an oncoming car on a busy Connecticut roadway, state police said.
It happened on a stretch of I-84 in Hartford County at around 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, in Plainville.
Hartford County resident Walter Turner, age 43, of Berlin, died after his 2006 Ford Focus hit a 2021 Toyota Rav4 LE driven by New Haven County resident Vanessa Gonzalez, age 27, of Waterbury, which was traveling westbound head-on, according to Connecticut State Police.

A suspected bank robber was nabbed following an hours-long standoff with police at a Connecticut hotel.
Hartford County resident David Latino, age 49, of Southington, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 14, after barricading himself in the carrier Motor Lodge, in Newington, authorities said.

A storm system that swept through the area overnight has knocked out power to thousands in Connecticut.
The hardest hit were the areas in which a Tornado Warning was issued at around 4 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9: in Hartford, Tolland, and Windham counties. The warning has since been lifted.

The number of “red" communities in Connecticut has reached 100, according to the most recent state data, Thursday, Nov. 12.
Infection rates have been rising in Connecticut dramatically. There are now 100 cities and towns with the highest daily averages of newly reported COVID-19 cases.
Last week, Thursday, Nov. 5, there were 67 red communities.
And the week before that, Oct. 29, there were 30.
